As I step into Chapter 47 of my life, I can feel something shifting within me, a deeper sense of peace, purpose, and self-awareness that only comes with experience, resilience, and growth.

This year has been a true awakening. It’s as if life is reminding me that I’m not just living, I’m becoming. The past few months, especially, have been amazing. I’ve achieved goals that once felt out of reach and filled my calendar with memories that that made this year feel truly special..

I ran my first 25K, something that took not only physical strength but mental perseverance and determination. I spent afternoons wandering through art museums, soaking in creativity and quiet inspiration. I went horse riding with friends, laughed under open skies, and felt the freedom of just being present.

From an R&B and soul event that reminded me of my love for music, to roller skating sessions that made me feel like a kid again. I even found myself at a few more pole fitness classes, reconnecting with my femininity and strength in a way I didn’t expect. And then there was a little escape to Bucharest, Romania, with my friend, where we treated ourselves to pure tranquillity at the Therme Spa. That short break reminded me how vital it is to slow down, breathe, and pour back into myself.

I loved having family moments with a family dinner, and these are the reminders that no matter how far we go, love and family are always home.

What It Means to Be 47

Life at 47 feels like a blend of confidence and calm, the courage to chase new adventures, and the wisdom to know what truly matters. It’s the realisation that joy doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from presence.

This year, I’ve celebrated beautiful milestones. My son’s Sweet 16 was an emotional moment that filled me with pride and nostalgia. Watching him go to his prom felt surreal, a reminder of how time flies. no matter how tightly we hold it.

And for me? I finally stepped into the world of Carnival, in full costume, feathers and all! A celebration of womanhood, freedom, and the power of joy.

Professionally, I began a new job, with new prospects and renewed motivation. I’ve placed a strong focus on health, fitness, and wellbeing, training consistently, nourishing my body, and keeping my mental health at the forefront.

I’ve been surrounding myself with strong, positive women, building deeper friendships and creating space for sisterhood. And perhaps most importantly, I’ve learned to say no. For someone who’s always said yes, this has been one of my greatest acts of self-love, setting boundaries where they’re needed and protecting my peace.

Embracing Change with Grace

Of course, this chapter hasn’t been without its challenges. Like many women my age, I’ve entered the journey of perimenopause, with it's changes to my body, and mood.. It’s been a learning curve, but one I’ve faced head-on. It hasn’t been easy, but through exercise, diet changes, herbal supplements, and research, I’ve found balance.

It’s taught me to listen to my body, to nurture it, and to extend myself grace in the moments when I feel less than my best. These shifts, though challenging, have also been empowering. They’ve taught me that self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

Birthday Month

I just want to take a moment to give thanks for all the memories, love, and joy I’ve experienced this month while celebrating my 47th birthday. The celebrations began on the 4th of October and carried on right up until the 30th and what a month it has been! I’ve had an absolute blast, created unforgettable memories, and felt surrounded by nothing but love and good energy.

To my beautiful friends, family, associates, and even friends of friends who showed up, celebrated, and poured love into me, thank you. This month has been truly special: filled with laughter, joy, gratitude, and moments I’ll cherish forever.

One thing I’ve learned is that life is too short to live with regrets. It’s time to make memories, be thankful, and embrace experiences you never imagined. Stop worrying about finances — things will always find a way to work out. Focus on the brighter side of life, keep your energy positive, and never allow anyone’s negativity or envy to block your blessings.

You are the creator of your own life. Every day is a blank canvas, and you hold the brush. Paint the picture of the life you want. Each page of your story is yours to write, so make it worth reading.

Over the last year, I’ve realised that people will always have opinions, they’ll judge, criticise, or misunderstand your journey. But what matters most is that you do it for you. Never feel selfish for putting yourself first. Never doubt your worth or your ability to achieve greatness.

So many people focus on what they don’t have instead of appreciating what they can create. The truth is, nothing comes easy, people might see the results but rarely understand the struggle behind them. Through it all, I’m thankful to God, and to my mum watching over me from above. Everything I do, I do for her, for my kids, and for myself.

I have no regrets. Let people watch, talk, or judge because I know my life is blessed. My sons are happy, I’m content, and even without riches, I make the most of every resource I have. Tomorrow isn’t promised, but if my time were to end today, I’d leave knowing I lived fully, loved deeply, and made the best of what I had.

Life is too short to care about what others think or to be distracted by envy and negativity. You never know what someone else is going through, so focus on your own path, stay kind, and keep pushing forward. There will always be people who want to see you fail, but why should you care? Their opinions don’t define you, their judgment doesn’t shape your destiny. Stay true to yourself, your goals, your dreams, and your peace.

Be proud of who you are and how far you’ve come. Keep navigating the challenges with grace, strength, and determination. Remember, nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Don’t wait for the “right time” to live your life. If the world ended tomorrow, would you regret not taking that chance today? Live now. Dream now. Do now.

Being successful isn’t about being rich, it’s about being happy, fulfilled, and creating beautiful memories along the way.

Looking Ahead

As I move through the final months of this year, I give thanks for every experience I've had. I want the remainder of the year and the start of the next, to overflow with joy, abundance, love, and peace.

I’m manifesting better job opportunities, financial growth, stronger health, and positive energy that lifts not only me but also my boys.

At 47, I’m embracing life fully. I want laughter, lessons, and everything in between. I’ve learned that happiness isn’t found in chasing more, but in honouring who you are today, right here, in this moment.

Here’s to joy that doesn’t fade, confidence that doesn’t fade, and a future that’s just as bright as the woman I’m becoming.

Now it’s time to recharge. Hibernation mode is activated for the next couple of months.
