Fit, Fierce, and Focused at 46: Why I’m Going Hard in 2025

They say life is short—and they’re right. I’m turning 47 this year, and I’ve decided I’m going all in. Fit, toned and strong. I’m not just working out, I’m on a mission.

Four times a week, I hit the gym like I’m training for a war, and to be honest, that’s what people have been saying: "You’re training like you’re going to battle." And maybe I am. But here’s what they don’t know—I’ve never trained easy.

At 18, I earned my black belt, first Dan. That journey was anything but soft. I was pushed, challenged, sparring with men, and taught to fight harder every time I felt pain. I didn’t move through the world thinking “I’m a woman, so I should go easy.” No. I accepted pain as my power source. No pain, no gain wasn’t just a motto—it was my mindset.

Today, the gym is my peace. My therapy. It helps me release tension, clear my mind, and keep my mental health sharp. Whether I’m lifting heavy, killing it in a spin class, or focusing on my core, glutes, and legs—this is my time. My diet is strict. High protein to build muscle. I'm working on toning my arms, trimming love handles, and sculpting the body I know is waiting under the discipline.

I’ve always said: A healthy mind and a healthy body are the foundation for success in every area of life. When your body is strong, your mind is clearer. When you feel good, you think better, love deeper, dream bigger, and move differently. Confidence is a form of discipline, and it shows up in the way you walk, talk, and stand out in a room.

My motivation isn’t just to look good in the outfits I want to wear—though that’s a bonus. I run 10k races every year, and one of my biggest goals is to train for the London Marathon. I’ve already completed a half marathon (2 hours 41 minutes—with no training!), just pure determination and willpower.

Now, I’m excited to see what a full year of consistent, intentional training could do. Because when I set my mind to something, I do it.

I dream of having a partner who loves the gym just like I do—someone who gets it. Who will push me, train with me, spot me through the hard sets, and celebrate the wins. Gym buddies who turn into life partners, chasing greatness together. And let’s be real—being fit opens doors. The energy, the clarity, the opportunities. Whether it’s hiking in a new country, running a race overseas, or simply rocking the “holiday body” I’ve always dreamed of—this is about feeling powerful in my own skin.

The truth is, I’ve always looked good, no matter the weight. I love my natural body. Yes, it fluctuates, but I’ve never wanted to mess with what God gave me. I’m not trying to go under the knife to chase a dream body—I know the real magic happens through consistency and sweat.

So here’s to everyone going for it this year: may you find peace in the gym, joy in movement, pride in progress, and love for your body at every stage. Let 2025 be the year we stop making excuses and start making moves.

To being fit, confident, and powerful in your own skin—this year and always.
